Evolution of the human species is a constant race against time, getting faster, more advanced and ever more demanding. We take a huge amount out of our environment and ourselves, yet when do we ever put a little bit back in?
Love Smoothies, you could say, has a certain philosophy. We only work with like-minded companies and we´re always wondering how we could do things better.
Disposables
We only use bio-degradable cups, lids and straws. That means they´re made from plants. This means the plastics are made from a renewable source that grow back each year, rather than from oil, which is what conventional plastics are made from. The trouble with oil is it´s a finite resource that takes millions of years to form. Bio-plastics also have a lower carbon emission footprint than conventional plastics because they require less energy to manufacture, use a high % of renewable energy and are made from plants which take carbon from the atmosphere during their growth. This means any carbon emitted to the atmosphere on disposal has been previously removed, neutralizing it´s effect. Bio-plastics are also recyclable. Not only can you recycle bio plastics mechanically but chemically too.
Ingredients
Where possible our fruit is locally sourced, but even if that's not possible we still consider the impact on the environment. Take Açaí for example. It is one of the most potent antioxidant super foods on the planet and its harvest provides a viable, sustainable economic resource for the people of the Amazon. In order to grow, Açaí palm requires intact primary Amazon rainforest and currently this means that an area the size of Switzerland is being protected from loggers. So the next time you try one of our smoothies that contain Açaí remember - it´s helping you, the Amazon and tribes you´ll probably never be fortunate enough to meet.
POS Material
All of our marketing materials (brochures, leaflets etc.) and Point of Sale material are made from recycled stock and it´s all FSC Approved.
